Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Wes Larson, known as the Griz Kid on Instagram. Wes, a Bear Scientist, has been featured online around the world, including National Geographic. Folks had the chance to see photos from his work around the globe with wildlife and see the gear used in the field first-hand. Wes brought along "Pants", an orphaned raccoon that he was assisting to prepare for the wild to educate folks on wildlife. Students learned how to decipher bear species and what to do when approached by a bear. In a relaxed setting, the evening was part party, part business but equal parts of good times.
Food was provided by El Sillero and beverages by Vive Juicery & Five Wives Vodka.

Students left class with a bag of goods with items from local businesses Mae Woven, Thread Wallets, & Nola Granola such as turkish towels, wallets, compasses, coupons, and notebooks,
but most importantly, knowledge to protect themselves in the great outdoors.
